Adventures in Wedding Land

My momma (and poppa- to help Jacob finish up a few last house remodeling projects) came to visit and we went a little wedding crazy!!!

First: We found my mom's dress for the wedding! We headed to Down the Aisle, the place where I found my dress, with hopes that we could take advantage of their 30% discount they were offering. She had two requirements: no old lady jackets, and no beads or sequins. So that rules out all dresses resembling these:

So we ended up with these options! Isn't she sexy? She's such a hot mama!! She doesn't even need to wear sleeves! She tried on lots of dresses:
Check out her Hawaii tan!(Do you see a pattern/similarity in styles going on? Haha!)
She ended up looking particularly gorgeous and sexy in this lovely number:
She looks like a supermodel!
Not many MOBs could pull off that daring back!
We ordered it in this color:

We'll be adding a little bit of fabric in the bust area so she's not so boobalicious, but other than that it's perfect! She's so pretty!

That night we worked long and hard on our secret invitation component, which will be revelead when the invites are sent out. The men watched Batman Begins, we cut and ironed and sewed until our backs and knees couldn't take it anymore. 12 yards of silk dupioni and 1 spool of pink thread later, we're about 1/2 done with that project!

Second: We made the ring bearer pillow!
The pretty broach that was my Grandma G's.
The finished product!

Lastly: we dyed my crinoline that I'll wear under my dress for our Trash The Dress photo shoot!
It doesn't know what's coming for it...
Soaking it, per the instructions...
Excited! Note the sexy gloves!
Round and round it goes!
It's so pink!
Success!The finished product!

We also hit up the craft store and did some (minor) damage while the menfolk were installing extra outlets and wainscoating into the guest bathroom. Got all the supplies for our monogram letters that will hang at the entrance, the baskets for the bathroom baskets, and lots of other fun things!

I wish my momma lived closer so we could have fun wedding craft time every weekend! Love you mom!!
