Trash the DRESS!!!

Ever since I found out about "Trash the Dress" (check out the link, it's awesome!!) photo shoots, I have been dying to have one. We mentioned it to our photographer, and he said that he'd be more than willing to do one!
It's included in our photography package, since we're not using him for an engagement photo shoot (We'll be using the ever-so-talented Daniel Kiyoi for that one!). I've been searching high and low for a dress to wear for this photo shoot, since the dresses tend to get a little bit dirty-- we're talking about photos in the water, in the sand, in the dirt... and I didn't want to "trash" my dress! I've been stalking ebay, weddingbee.com classifieds, oncewed.com, preownedweddingdresses.com, but to no avail. A friend suggested I check out the samples that bridal stores are selling to see if there was a discontinued dress that would fit the bill! So this morning I headed out to the different bridal stores, and ended up finding a GORGEOUS dress that fit perfectly (off the rack! what are the chances!) but was about double the budget... too bad. That's where the magic of the internet comes into play! A quick google search brought me to Best Bridal Prices, a wholesale retailer where I found the dress at half the price!! Woopee!! So I took the plunge and ordered it!! It's nice to know that it is returnable if something happens, doesn't fit, etc or I could also just try to sell it on Ebay or Weddingbee. Hopefully, after the photo shoot, I'll be able to dry clean the dress and sell it to another bride (and recoup some of the costs!).

Here's the dress! It's totally different from my "real" wedding dress- I liked this one because it's very beachy, summery, light and airy- great for those beach "trash the dress" shoots!! The pictures don't do it much justice, I'll be adding a crinoline (maybe dyed pink!) to give it some shape, and I also ordered it in Ivory. But I'll take some pictures once it comes in the mail!
I can't wait to see the wonderful pictures! Hey, you only do this once, so why not go all out and have some fun while you're at it?
