Maverick is a stray who was brought into the County Animal Shelter about 3 months ago. He's about a year old, and is very friendly and loves to be petted! We adopted him from Tails, which a pet shop here in town that rescues cats from the Animal Shelter, because they are a kill facility. He's an indoor cat, with medium length hair, and is socialized around other animals. His name was Madrone, but we decided to change it to Maverick... because he's a little bit of a wild one. We spent a long time yesterday playing with him, and we all got along instantly. However, Maverick is still pretty nervous at home! He is spending his time under the bed, hissing at us when we try to talk to him. The lady at Tails said that he just needs a few days to adjust.
Maverick spent last night running around, knocking things over, and proceeded to fall behind the washing machine! Hopefully we'll get more sleep as he starts to adjust! This really is like having a newborn.. haha!
Maverick is great around people, so once he gets used to his new home, he'll probably be hanging out with everyone when they come over. He's not shy once he knows his environment!
