Adventures in Floral Design

So since we're doing our own flowers for the rehearsal dinner, and will have lots left over, we decided to take on the task of designing the flowers for the ceremony- mainly lining the aisle. We got some super cute buckets from Ikea, using photos like this as our inspiration:
We got those buckets several months ago, but I haven't really messed around with designs or how the whole thing would even work until this week! You know what I've found? It's actually pretty easy to do your own flowers!

I got some Oasis floral foam from Michael's and some flowers from Vons and Costco, and followed the directions to soak the foam. Basically you let it submerge itself in water until it floats to top of the bucket!
Then arrange away! It was strangely relaxing and I really enjoyed it. My first bucket that I made last night, from a cheap Vons bouquet (the flowers were already kinda wilted, so forgive that):

My bucket of flowers from the Costco bouquet:
Then I tied a ribbon around the bucket, in hopes that we could do that in order to hang them off the chairs along the aisle:
What do you think? I'm loving it right now! It was so easy!
