Gocco hate.

I might hate my gocco forever and may never want to see it again, but at least the printing of the invitations are done!!!

I think I wasted about 5 or 6 screen/bulb sets trying to figure out why the "e" on the end of "pleasure" wasn't flashing. Then it occurred to me that even though the "e" was showing up as being able to be registered on the screen, it was actually to close to the edge.

So Jacob won the fight over whether the word "honor" actually was spelled "honour". I said with the "u", he said without. Ended up being a moot point because we had to take out the dang "u" so the "e" on pleasure would fit. Apparently "pleasur" is not something you put on wedding invitations, because apparently guests will notice your laziness and bad spelling, and you can't spend 10 minutes telling each one the sob story about how the darn gocco just wouldn't print the stupid "e" and how they should just get over it.

I then proceeded to waste another 3 or 4 sets as I struggled to get things straight. And then, about 140 prints in, the screen burst (teach me to put too much ink on it). It was so fab! I love DIY projects!!!

So, we finished the printing of the RSVP cards, brunch invitations, rehearsal dinner invitations, the outer envelopes, and the actual invites without me wanting to throw my dear gocco out the window. It actually ended up being a blessing in disguise, because on my 4th trip to Kinkos, I saw Kirsten Ely, an old friend.

What's left: outer envelopes and inner envelope tags to the calligrapher, stamps on everything, finishing sewing inner envelopes, and put rhinestones on everything. Note to self: 3 mm rhinestones are wayyy too small, and any attempts to stick 1500 of those babies should be avoided.

Good thing we have a couple more months before they need to be sent out, because I'm about ready to box them up and stick them in the garage until the very last minute. In fact, I think I might go do that.

I mean... making the invites was a dream and I know everyone will cherish them for forever and ever!! :)

Alissa, the invites and reply cards are just spectacular! I opened mine up waiting in line at the post office and had an audience! We were are speechless with admiration. Well Done. I'm glad you had fun making them, as I can tell it was a ton of work.

Thanks so much for including us in the mailout.
