Our Wedding Rings!

We got up bright and early this morning: 8:30am. Took showers. Headed to Peet's to have an orange juice and pastry. Then, at 10am...

Bought our wedding rings!

Jacob's ring: a 7mm tungsten carbide ring. The photo makes it look more silver than it actually it- the ring has a bluish tint to it. Tungsten Carbide is highly resistant to scratches and dings, and will retain it's shiny finish for practically forever. It's fairly heavy, and a classic comfort fit, rounded edge design.

My ring! A half-eternity band, prong-set, .22 carats, in white gold. We bought the sample so I got to take it home today!

Amanda, at Serengeti West, is so awesome! We were able to get 40% off my ring (because of the sale on all their store samples) and then she generously gave us 25% off Jacob's ring (not an in-stock item). I wanted something with diamonds, but wasn't sure if it was going to fit in the budget- but thanks to the sale, it did! The perfect size and everything! After the wedding, the jeweler will shape my wedding ring to fit the curve of my engagement ring, and then solder them together, to make one ring. We had to order Jacob's ring from the manufacturer, and it should be here in a few weeks- just in time for Christmas!

So now my ring is at home, in hiding. We decided that the rings are going to be our Christmas presents to each other... so I only got to look at it for a few minutes before Jacob whisked it away. I can't wait until we get to wear them all the time!

Ok, I'm going to ignore my intense jealousy resulting from the fact that your "bright and early" is 8:30 am, and instead say yay for wedding rings!! So exciting :)
