Wedding Party Part IV

Presenting: The Groomsmen!

STATUS: Best Man
Name: Mr. Justin Reynolds
Relation: Friend of the Bride and Groom
Age: 22

Story: I honestly don't even remember when I met Justin. I doubt Jacob does either. He's always been one of those people who's just... always there! Haha! We all went from elementary school through high school together, and Jacob and Justin headed on to Cal Poly. Justin is currently a student at Cal Poly, doing a double master's degree in civil engineering and business. This dude is one smart cookie! He's also an absolutely incredible jazz musician, and currently plays with Still Time (most recently seen at Downtown Brew dressed up in a "white trash" outfit...). He was also a partner in our little non-profit venture, Y-NOT Student Productions. He's one of the best friends that we could ask for, and even works at the Historical Museum as a wedding coordinator!! We have such luck. He's an all around amazing friend and we couldn't ask for anyone better to be our best man!

Name: Mr. Brian Sybesma
Relation: Friend of the Bride and Groom
Age: 22

Story: Brian and Jacob first met as roommates during their 2nd year in the infamous "B-Unit", a non-legal bottom floor of a house that's owned by Simon (see below), with 7 foot ceilings. All agree that it should just really be knocked down! Brian is a 5th year Mechanical Engineering major, and is always up for a witty or sarcastic remark, a speech about how great the Danish... er, Dutch are, a game of poker, or a bike ride to Pismo Beach to eat Cinnamon rolls (thus defeating the purpose of working out to begin with...). Brian is an amazing friend, and we have all become close over the past 3.5 years. Highlights include painting Brian green for Halloween (obviously he was the Jolly Green Giant!). We are so excited to have Brian as a groomsman, as we are sure he's going to be the one enticing all the ladies to come out on the dance floor with his sexy Dutch dancing moves!

Name: Mr. Matt Tien
Relation: Friend of the Bride and Groom
Age: 22

Story: Matt was another inhabitant of the "B-Unit", and is also equally proud of his Dutch heritage. Matt is a 5th year Mechanical Engineering major, and is engaged to be married to the darling Lauren Ambrose this May! Matt's pretty sassy also, and can definitely break out the dance moves, as witnessed at Tyler and Dale's wedding (although I don't know if he knew he had them before that night!). Matt lives just around the corner from us, and tends to show up randomly in the late afternoon (perhaps for dinner or cookies?). He's a great friend, and it's going to be such a blast having him as a groomsman!

Name: Mr. Ryland Swartz
Relation: Brother of the Groom
Age: 21

Story: Related by blood, Jacob and Ryland (obviously) grew up together! While both brothers are talented musicians and like to travel, the similarities end there! Ryland is the next Steven Spielberg, and is one talented screenwriter, filmmaker, and movie afficiando. If you're ever on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", get a movie related question, and have the option to "phone a friend"... call him! Ryland is a 3rd year student at UCSB, and is talking about taking Spring Quarter off to travel Europe. Talk about adventurous! He's a quiet type, but will surprise you with his wit, sass, humor, and knowledge!

Name: Mr. Simon Burnworth
Relation: Friend of the Bride and Groom
Age: 22

Story: Simon is another one of those cases in which we just can't quite remember where he came from. Again, going to school from elementary through college together, Simon and Jacob have obviously been there for each other through thick and thin. Simon recently graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in Civil Engineering, and now is employed and rolling in the dough (sorry ladies, he's got a girlfriend!) with a firm in Santa Barbara. He loves all outdoor sports, including biking, hiking, and anything to do with snow. He is faithfully the first person to RSVP for our annual ski trip each year, because he just can't wait to get into that fresh powder! Simon is one of the best friends we could ask for!

Name: Mr. Danny Kelly
Relation: Friend of the Bride and Groom
Age: 22

Story: Danny... what to say about Danny. He'll probably agree with that statement! Danny came into our lives in high school, and came to Cal Poly with Jacob. He graduated in June with a degree in Business Administration, and is currently pursuing his fame and fortune in Brooklyn! Danny is the "Ryland Swartz" of music, and is best known for creating rediculously (amazing) playlists for ski trips that no one else wants to listen to. Although he likes to joke around, Danny is a great friend who's always up for a conversation about whatever is on my mind. Our lives are definitely quieter since Danny has moved away! We are so excited that he will be back for the wedding, as this year will probably be the longest we have gone without hearing (or complaining) about his imfamous laugh! We can't wait to have him in our wedding!

Name: Mr. Michael Kiyoi
Relation: Friend of the Bride and Groom
Age: 22
Story: Mike and Jacob date all the way back to elementary school, where they mastered the art of karate together! We all went to high school together, and Jacob and Mike participated in lots of marching band, jazz band, orchestra, and just about everything in between. He was also instrumental in aiding the Y-NOT Student Productions orchestra, even conducting "Into The Woods" (has anyone ever seen a Sondheim score? Talk about a feat!)! Mike is a 5th year Music Education major at UCLA, and will be graduating this spring. Mike loves snowboarding and is a fabulous Ultimate Frisbee player, playing with UCLA Smaug Ultimate and Santa Barbara Condors! He's a great friend and we are sad that he lives so far away in Los Angeles. We are so excited that he's going to be part of our wedding!
