The BIG Ask!

So, now that the whole bridal party finally knows who they are (and have starting planning amongst themselves! I think there's a San Francisco dress shopping trip in the works!) I get to reveal how I asked them to be my Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor!

I have to preface this by saying that Martha Stewart is my hero, and has inspired my craftiness.. in fact, I secretly want to be her!

I also have to admit that I knew how I wanted to ask my ladies before I was engaged... yeah, whatever, I know, I know. I am a daily reader of this amazing wedding blog called Wedding Bee, and ever since I discovered it back in January I have been inspired by the craftiness of the ladies that blog on there! If you haven't heard of Wedding Bee, you need to check it out immediately... it's about 15-20 brides who are getting married within the next 9 months, and they document their planning process on the site. Wedding Bee is also what introduced me to the concept of writing a blog and then turning it into a Blurb Book, so it has influenced this planning process in more ways that one! I stalk...er... read it daily, save pictures, and write down any wonderful ideas that I find! Wedding Bee is also where I learned about Gocco, but that's a project to come in the future (Save The Dates!).

So I got off track. Oops! So, like I said, I knew exactly how I wanted to ask my maids... with surprise packages that magically (by mail, I know it's not really magic, but sometimes it seems like it is!) at their doorsteps.

Presenting: The Gifts....

The Whole Package
The Card- I stamped and embossed the bridesmaid, glued rhinestones onto her dress, rounded the corners of the card, and tied ribbon through the holes I punched in the top.
The Top of the Card
The Tank Tops- I ironed on the "Bridesmaid" and heart rhinestones
Flip Flops- I did the puff paint! There's also a little rhinestone at the top, but you can't see it very well :(
I found the cutest "Bridesmaid" handbooks on Amazon! Lana has been reading hers daily.... :)
The Whole Package once again!

Yay! It was so much fun creating these little packages for all of my maids! I am definitely getting into the crafty spirit... now let's just see how long it lasts! They all loved it, and I even got tears from a few people! Jacob and I are both so happy that they are all going to be standing with us on our wedding day. I promise also that we'll reveal the Ring Bearers and Flower Girls soon! I just need to get through the next couple of weeks at work... and then summer is officially here... and that means I'll have more time for wedding planning!
