Hotels and Vacation Rentals in Santa Barbara

We are so excited that you will be joining us on our wedding day! We have listed several great hotels below, as well as some vacation house rental resources that would be great options for those who will be visiting for longer than a few days, have families, or want to bunk up together with a big group of friends!

Santa Barbara is a popular tourist destination, which means two things- 1) There are LOTS of things to do!, and 2) Hotels and good deals on rooms book up quickly. Don't hesitate to make your reservation early!

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Pepper Tree Inn, which is located about 2 minutes from Allie's house, about 10 minutes from Jacob's house, and about 10 minutes from the Historical Museum. The rooms will be held through May 27, 2009, and please reference the Zimmerman/Swartz Wedding when making a reservation.

The town is filled with history, great beaches, hiking, shopping, restaurants and more. We know that you'll have a fantastic time!

VACATION RENTALS

We highly recommend considering a vacation rental, particularly if you have a family, are coming for more than 2 days, or plan on staying with a group of friends. We've found that often vacation rentals are a better value than staying in a hotel, especially when you get a group of friends together, consider the value of having a kitchen, or have pets. Please call us if you need help picking out a location of a house, or want to know about driving times, etc. We recommend that you stay in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area (only about 15 minutes to get anywhere), avoiding anything south of Carpintera/Ventura (upwards of 20-40 minutes, depending on traffic).

1. We love Priceline and Hotwire! If you've never used these sites, you either bid (Priceline.com) or pick a price range (Hotwire.com) without knowing the hotel that you'll be placed at. Once the site accepts your offer, you are committed to staying at the hotel they place you at (however, you do get to pick the location). They reveal the hotel after the bid or offer has been accepted and paid for. We've saved lots of money by bidding on hotels through Priceline.com. You generally save the most money by booking only a few days out.
   
2. We also love Sidestep! If you've never used Sidestep, it's a travel search engine that searches every travel website out there, including travel wholesellers (Travelocity or Orbitz) and company websites (American Airlines, Marriott). You can track prices on flights, and purchase when the flight is at a low price.
