A Little Bit More

So the wonderful dresses from Nordstrom arrived last Friday- and they turned out to be henious. I hate when that happens! How can something look so cute on the model, and so ugly in real life! So much extra fabric where there shouldn't have been, and so see through. At least the shipping was free, and I could return them in the store.

SO, my mom and I headed out on a mission- to find a rehearsal dinner dress AND earrings to wear with my wedding dress. We were very succesful! Thank you Ann Taylor Loft and Macy's (I heart Macy's and their fabulous sales and coupons!).

Here's the dress: (sorry for the bad pic- Jacob is gone so I had to rely on the good ole mirror picture- and it's too dark in our room).

Here are the earring choices:
Which ones do you like? I am planning on wearing my special Tiffany's pearl bracelet that Jacob got me for Christmas last year, and then one of several pearl necklaces- I have a couple, my mom has a few, and then a few other relatives have offered me theirs. I just need to put them all together with the dress to see which one matches the best. I also ordered a clutch this weekend to keep all my things in during the wedding (that's Bren's responsibility).

When I was at home this weekend, we got out my mom's wedding dress! The dress is tiny, but Bren was able to fit into it (it fit perfectly!). She asked me to not post the pictures... oh well. Her dress is so beautiful- totally not 80's at all! I've actually seen a lot of dresses in the stores that are very similar to it.

I've been pretty bored today so I decided to take some photos of our rings! There's a great tutorial online about how to use the macro setting on point and shoot cameras so I checked it out and had some fun. Unfortunately most of our things are packed up, so I didn't really have anything artsy to pose them with... unless you count uHaul boxes as artsy. I don't... so our sheets were the best I could do. Aren't they pretty! I can't wait to wear them!!! less than 1.5 more months!

I also ordered some "moo cards" to use as tags for our out-of-town guest welcome bags. I definitely could have just used some paper that I already had... but these little cards are just SO darn cute. And I can't resist cute paper. Weird? Yes, but whatever. I used 8 different engagement photos, and personalized the back. We'll put the guest's name and hotel on the card, and then it's up to someone (groomsmen? bridesmaids? Jacob and I?) to deliver them to their hotels, so a little gift will be awaiting them upon check in. I'm a believer in the theory of "it's the small things that make the difference"- and since our guests are coming from so far, I want them to feel special!

ALSO: I just bought 2 (human) and 1 (pet) one-way tickets to Boston! We're leaving August 4. Eek, pretty scary... but also EXCITING! Thanks to JetBlue for making traveling with a pet so easy. Apparently they're the "pet friendly" airline! Love it!

So, for all of you who didn't believe it... we're really leaving. Better come hang out with us before we're gone for forever (or a year!) !!
