No, unfortunately the polls haven't closed so we don't know if Obama is our new president, or if Prop 8 and Prop 4 failed... but we have finally found a florist that is within our budget! Thr florist was our last major vendor and I'm so glad that it's out of my hair. Yippee! (I know my bridesmaids and family are cheering right now because this means that they won't be assembling flowers the day before the wedding!). We are going with Armando from Alegria by Design, and I couldn't be more excited. His work is absolutely beautiful! I don't have any pictures of what exactly he'll be doing, but I can share some inspiration pictures that I sent to him.
Our colors are ivory, pink, brown and green, and I told him that I like "elegant" and "fluffy" flowers. My bouquet will be composed of pink peony, white roses, gardenia, white stock and white lisianthus with chocolate satin ribbon. I am so excited that we got the peonies that I absolutely love in there! I as afraid that they wouldn't work in our budget but Armando made it happen. The bridesmaids will have similar (smaller) bouquets, and the groomsmen will have bouts made up of green hypericum berry, white micro mums and camellia foliage with chocolate satin ribbon. Jacob will have a similar bout, but his will have a gardenia instead of a mum. Half our centerpieces will be the branch centerpiece that I talked about in an earlier post (curly willow, tall vases, orchids and hanging votives), and the other half of the centerpieces will be a small glass cylinder filled with pink roses, white dendrobium orchids, white stock, pink lisianthus and camelia foliage mixed with lanterns and candles. We'll also have decorations for the ceremony, cake table, etc but haven't decided exactly what we'll be doing for that.
And now, for some inspiration pictures!
Since the museum is a little bit strict about rose petals, our flower girls will probably be carrying pomanders (in pink) that are very similar to these- covered in beautiful ranuculus!

Yay, I am so relieved to have that checked off our list. I was getting really stressed out and worried about whether or not we'd have to do the flowers ourselves... I don't know if that's something I'm prepared to do! Welcome to the team Alegria by Design!
